A Meshwork of Urban Sounds and Music
This laboratory examines the public sounds of Santiago de Cuba. Participants will be encouraged to approach the urban sounds of Santiago de Cuba with two perspectives in mind. In one instance, participants will be collaborating with local musicians and DJs in order to assess the musical legacies of Santiago de Cuba as they are expressed in daily life. In another instance, participants will be encouraged to consider their field recordings as musical compositions in their own right.
